Waking up from a nap

Abby likes to stand up in her crib when she wakes up. She always grabs whatever is in her crib and starts tossing it out. She thinks she's hilarious. 

Selfies

The old standby to get Abby to calm down is take a few selfies. She loves seeing herself in the camera. 

Loves her chair

Abby is really loving her chair!  She's getting better at sitting down in it, however, she never stays in it for long. Too much to do, ya know??

Play time

Here's some pics from Abby's playtime last week. She was hiding behind her basket waiting for me to say "where's Abby??" And then she would pop up and laugh when I said "there she is!"

Morning time

Abby always has the lovely morning face that looks like she hates the world. She is pretty whiney in the mornings usually. I promise she's getting enough sleep :-)

Toot toot!

Abby loves when a train appears somewhere...her books, a model train set we pass by after her PT appointments, on tv...she loves for us to go, "toot toot!" When Adam and I were in Maryland a few weeks ago for a wing cookoff radio event, we got Abby a train whistle. I took about 20 pics of her playing with it because she loves so much. Here are my favorites. Oh... And yes...she's putting her tongue in it rather than blowing into it... Oh well. 

Rough night

One of the weekends that Adam was out of town, Abby had a really challenging first night. She was histerically crying and sitting with her rocking in her room and reading books didn't work at all. I finally decided to take her into our bedroom and let her play on our bed with the tv on to try to get her attention to stop her crying. She really likes our bed because we usually bring her in our room after she wakes up on Saturdays and play on the bed together before we do breakfast. After about 30 minutes of constant crying in our room (after who knows how long in her room), she finally settled down and laid down. The second picture shows that she actually fell asleep just before 10pm. I was able to carry her to her bed without her waking up. She was super tired at that point. 

Climber

If I say "bath time" or "bed time", Abby knows its time to go up the stairs. She stops every few steps to turn around and make sure I'm right behind her. I have to tell her to " go go go", and she usually turns back around to continue climbing and repeats "go go go" several times.

Fort

Abby put together her own little fort one evening by putting a pillow in front of the coffee table, a couple of stuffed of stuffed animals and a blanket around her, and pulling her chair in front of her. She set that up all by herself and just sat there in silence for a few minutes. It was so cute!

Lovin' bath time

Abby loves bath time so much that once we start running the water, I can't get her to leave the tub to take off her clothes. Last night I had to strip her down next to the tub so I could avoid a fit. 

   You can see in the first pic Abby's issue with her left foot. She's really flat footed so she puts her weight on the inside of her foot and compensates for balance by  curling her toes out. We went to an orthotics dr this week and he is trying out a thin arch support in her shoes to see if that helps over the next month. If it doesn't, the next option will be a hard ankle brace that will have to fit inside larger shoes. We're praying that she won't have to wear the brace. 

New chair!

Abby likes to climb her new chair, sit in it the wrong way, and wait for us to tell her to sit down in the chair. Then she slides down to sit in it correctly and hops out of it just as quickly as she got in!  

Daddy time

I believe they were reviewing parts of your head...ear, mouth...and then maybe some tickling started!

I'm going to try to get some pictures of Abby in her new chair that Memaw and Nana sent. She loves it! Though we're having to try to keep her from climbing up and standing in it...

Waiting for PT in the mall

Because of Abby's daycare schedule, we've changed her PT day and time to be first thing on Tuesday mornings. Instead of taking her to Tony and Kathy's house before work, I take Abby with me to work and let her run around in the old mall that is attached to my office building until the PT lady gets there. She loves how open it is!

Church

Adam took this pic of Abby watching me sing from the back of the church during a rehearsal. She just stood there the whole time swaying.

Oops!

We bought Abby new silverware to help her with feeding herself. It has bigger spoon and fork heads than the other ones we've been using. She loves to hold it and put it into her mouth by herself. She also loves to bite the utensil...which is what is happening here. She started playing with it and bouncing it, and then it fell out of her mouth. See her reaction in the last pic. Love it!
