Ready to wake up

This is a picture of Abby's hand on top of my hand. She is reaching under her door.  In the mornings, I have her door closed since I am getting ready in the hallway. We keep a towel at the base if the door to block out the light and not wake her up. Lately, Abby has been waking up before I go in to wake her up. She will pull the towel into her room under the door and then put her hand out until I notice it. She'll ask, "Can I wake up?" I then have to convince her to stand up, pull the towel away from the door and back up so I can open the door to start getting her ready for the day.

A crown for my lady

They made a crown at daycare out if a paper plate and Abby loved prancing around in it that evening!

Picnic!

Abby decided to lay out her blankie like a picnic blanket during one of Adam's softball games. She worked hard to her all the edges right.

Then she wanted to cover the fence with it. Good effort, kid!

Kitty Umbrella

My coworker, Pam, left her umbrella somewhere. When she went back to try to get it back, she described it as an umbrella with cats on it. This is what they gave her back. A Hello Kitty umbrella. She was like,"you really think this is my umbrella??" (She's in her 50s) She went ahead and took it since they didn't have hers anymore and she brought it to work for me to give Abby. Abby LOVES it!

We used it while we watched Adam's softball game one evening.

Church picnic

Abby really enjoyed our church picnic this year!  It was hot and humid, but we all got to hang out and catch up together while watching the annual corn hole tournament.

Morning time

Abby was up to no good in this picture. Can you see why??

Look at the hand on the right. She was loading it up with stickers and then moving them from one place to another.

This is where she moved them to...

Movie time

Abby loves watching movies so she sits down, crosses her legs, and relaxes.

For me!

I gave Abby her milk in the car the other day, and she asked, "For me??"  I'm noticing now in these pictures how tall she is getting and I need to figure out what the next car seat is for her!

Cheese! ...while eating

Abby was still up for smiling for a pic when I interrupted her eating a snack. "Cheese!!"

Sharing her milk

Abby was kind enough to share her milk with her Woody doll one Saturday morning.

Watching Nemo

Abby decided the best seat in the house for a movie was the floor and made herself a little spot and covered herself with her blankie.

Sleeping

Abby has been struggling with sleeping a lot lately. She'll wake up with nightmares or just wanting something, to cuddle or a toy. The other morning she was screaming like she was having a nightmare and saying, "Flashlight!! Flashlight!!" We let her play with a flashlight that we bought at a dollar store sometimes, and Adam brought it to her and she asked for it to be on. That was all she wanted. She went back to sleep and this is how I found her the next morning. Asleep with her flashlight on and in her hand.

Hitchin' a ride

We have a ritual. When we go shopping at Walmart for our groceries each month, we make an evening of it. There's a little Mexican restaurant in a strip mall on the opposite side of the parking lot from Walmart. We go there for dinner and then Adam and Abby walk through the parking lot towards Walmart while I move the car from in front of the restaurant to the front of the Walmart parking lot. That way, we don't have to buckle in Abby for a 20 second car ride. Adam just started putting her on his shoulders last week, so looks like it's going to be a piggy back ride from now on!

Look! It's Poppy!

We got a new bench for under our window. Abby likes to hop up on it and look out of it. She kept saying, "Look! It's Poppy!"

Gelato

Abby loved having some lemon gelato while we were at the pool.

Ready to go!

Got Abby's bathing suit on her ready to go to the community pool with Gammy and Poppy. Yes-I should get her some water shoes, but I think blue Keds really say summertime...don't you?

Daddy's Lap

When Abby wants to sit on someone's lap, she asks by saying, "Daddy's lap?" or "Mommy's lap?" Here she is while we were playing a game on July 4th.

July 4th dinner

Abby was dressing in style for our little cookout for dinner on July 4th- patriotic hat and glow stocks around her neck.

Here we are with the "Morning Glory@ sparklers from the video on Facebook. She liked them until one if the sparks jumped back and got her hand. Then she backed away and said, "I'm scared."

Truck break!

While we were shopping at the outlet mall yesterday, Abby wanted to take a break from her stroller and drive a tow truck instead. It was a bumpy ride!

New bathing suit

Abby got to sport one of her new bathing suits for this summer at a little fountain park that Tony and Kathy took her to. It's a tiny bit too big and droopy-but still cute :-)

Abby and Riley

Abby was eating some cereal out of a Baggie while Tyler and Liz's dog, Riley, sat at attention waiting for her to drop some. Abby ended up sharing her cereal with Riley after some persistent begging on Riley's part. Later, when Abby accidentally dumped out all of the remaining cereal crumbs in the Baggie onto the floor, Riley was there to save the day.
