Work day

I worked from home one day last week to take care of Abby. She can now get up and get down from the couch all by herself. She kept crawling up on the far side of the couch and just sitting there. The tv wasn't even on and she would just stare forward. And yes- I let her stay in her pajamas all day!

Confused sleeper

One morning last week, when I went in the wake up Abby, she was laying just like this with her feet crossed and looking up at me like, "who are you and what do you want??" Much different than her normal routine of standing up immediately and either throwing her animals out of the crib or reaching up to be picked up. It's like I interrupted her in deep thought.

Chillin' on a Saturday morning

Abby has started to really like sitting on the couch with us. She can crawl up there on her own and get down when she wants. Sometimes we watch Mickey's Clubhouse and sometimes she brings a couple of books over to read and look through. She just crosses her little legs and leans back on us.

Whatcha eatin'??

When we started to eat cake and ice cream from Adam and Tony's birthday, Abby immediately went straight for Tony's lap...to begin begging. Needless to say...he caved :-)

Birthdays

We got together last week for Adam's and Tony's birthdays. Abby was playing with her little pool in Tony and Kathy's backyard while the grown ups played a few rounds of cornhole. She loves playing with water.

Here's the delicious cake Kathy made for the boys.

Tony and Kathy found Coke bottles to cover all of our names! Lisa or Nicki isn't made, so mine was Nicole, but how cool is that??  They found Adam, Tony, and Kathy all together and decided to go find the rest. Very neat.

Leftover Snots

Abby has had leftover snot from being sick in DC. Poor thing can't shake the runny nose but she's nice and cuddly :-)

I had her in a skirt that was a little too big for her so it was saggy all day.

DC-6. Muffins and Sick time

The week before DC, I saw the daycare workers hand Abby a whole muffin for breakfast one morning. I didn't know she knew how to eat big things like that so I got her some little muffins for breakfast during the DC trip and she loved them.

You can't tell in most of the pictures from the trip, but Abby was actually really sick that weekend. She was coughing and runny nose, 101 fever, night chills, just all around didn't feel good. We were able to give her medicine during the days to keep her happy, but the nights were really tough. Either Adam or I spent a lot of time holding her on the couch in the living room over nights. One night we decided to bring her into the bedroom with us to see if she would lay still. She did she was so pooped.

DC-5 fun stuff!

The bus from the zoo back into town was actually a trolly. Abby enjoyed getting to hang out the side.

Here she is in front of the capital building riding backwards in her stroller. At least she was awake for this one!

DC-4 The Animals

Abby was loving the monkeys, ooo-ing and ah-ing.

This monkey kept throwing up on the ledge next to him and then eating it...very fascinating.

DC-3. The sleeping tour

Thankfully, Abby was able to nap during the day in her stroller. This helped her mood stay normal :-). We decided to take her picture asleep in front of the monuments she missed so we could tell her that she had been there one day when she asks. "See...you were there!"

On a side note, we went to the orthotics dr yesterday and there has not been an improvement on Abby's feet so she will be getting little ankle braces. We're not thrilled of course, but hopefully they'll help her out. We'll get them in a few weeks and we'll have to figure out what size shoe we'll have to get her to fit them inside.

DC-part 2. Potomac Cruise

A free riverboat tour of the Potomac River came with our bus tour tickets.  We thought it would be a nice change from the buses and walking. Abby loved standing in the boat and trying to balance while it was moving.

Washington DC -part 1

We got tickets to a bus tour of DC while we were there. It was an open top double decker that you could get off and on around town. Lots of fun. Here we are waiting for our first bus of the day-across from the pentagon.

Artist table

Tony found this awesome table at Goodwill and got it for Abby. This is the first time she saw it. She sat right down and started drawing!

Olive Garden

Sunday lunch at Olive Garden. Abby wanted to eat her food really quickly (it was hot) and we wouldn't let her.

This is Adam giving her "the look" to chill out.

Tickles and then hugs to change the attitude.

Always time for a photo op...

Pet day at the mall

You'd think that pet day at the mall would be really exciting for Abby...she fell asleep.

And here's our other daughter asleep :-)

Laying on daddy

Towards the end of the evening, sometimes Abby will lay down on Adam like this. She doesn't stay long, but it's so cute.

Here's a leftover pic from yesterday's post that I forgot. She was moving extremely fast :-)

Hyperactive

Every once in a while, Abby gets really hyper and ribs around like a but to release her energy. Here she was slamming herself into the love seat back first over and over again and giggling.

She then launched herself forward towards Adam's camera. He has a fun shot from that on his phone.
