6 mth dr appt

We had Abby's 6 mth appt on Friday (technically 6 1/2 mth...but that's how dr appts go!) she weighed in at 16 lbs 7 oz (up to the 50th percentile now!) and 26.25 inches long (down to the 50th percentile!). So now, she's perfectly average in size :-). She was in a great mood throughout the appointment until she got her round of shots in the thighs. She let out a huge scream but by the time we could pick her up to comfort her, she immediately calmed down. Such a pleasant girl :-)

Abby's first baseball game!

I was able to get tickets for Kathy's birthday for the Pittsburgh Pirates game last night. Mylan has a suite with a small amount of tickets available for each game and employees can submit requests to get them. We had drinks and unlimited chips and dip in the room, as well as super comfy chairs to sit in with an awesome view. Abby was great for the first couple of hours but had a hard time once she got tired and couldn't go to sleep. All in all--great night and game!

Practicing standing

Abby is very dramatic with her arms in the first pic, she's waving them in circles. Then she sinks down to Adams lap when she gets tired of wiggling while standing.

Hangin out

One evening it was just me and Abby, we sat on the couch reading baby food books. She was satisfied just propping herself up, hangin out.

Jack and Abby

Kathy and Tony were out on vacation for the last two weeks so Adam and I had to figure out child care for Abby during the days. Most days consisted of me working from home until 10:30 or so until Adam could get home from the station and take her to church with him for the rest of the day. A couple of days couldn't work that way and we had Jodi Snyder (my boss's wife) watch her for the day. They have three kiddos that were at the house for the summer and helping watch her. This is Jackson feeding her. Jack really loved having her and loved feeding her :-) She seemed to so really well with all of the different people watching her over the weeks.

Asleep?

We had Abby's sunglasses on her one day and we realized while we were driving that we had no idea if she was asleep or not. We had to carefully push down the glasses to find out. She was.

Piano player

Now that Abby is an "assisted sitter", it opens up more toy options for her. This is her playmat that had a keyboard at the bottom for her to kick while she was on her back. The piano adjusts to be flat so a sitter can bang on it. I was propping her up with my leg.

Sitting with daddy

I went to a Pirates baseball game with my team at work one evening so Adam had Abby the whole day. He sent me this pic during the game.

Baby mullet

Abby's hair is out of control. She's definitely got a baby mullet going on. Business in the front. Party in the back. Since she's sitting up better lately,I'm  thinking she might be due a nice trim soon so we can start giving it some shape!

Wide open eyes

Every time I walk up the stairs during the day time, the window at the top of the stairs catches Abby's eyes. She stares it down like she wishes she could see through the blinds. Sometimes I stop close to the top to let her stare but it always makes her eyes so big and beautiful. Wish the pic was true to color!

Peas

So this is her first time with peas. She seems fine with them. The next few days she started spitting things out. I thought she had decided she didn't like peas and did a day of squash and she still spit out. I think she just likes the noise she's making and I'm just adding ammunition for fun. We will see how things progress!

6 months!

Abby is 6 months old today! We went ahead and took pictures yesterday because I will be at a work event this evening and unable to take today. It was a little hard to get a smile this time because he was very interested in the bear, her own hands, the 6 mth sign, and then she started rocking herself since she's getting better at this sitting up thing...which was pretty funny.

High chair

We got a high chair/shopping cart seat cover using some Kohl's cash we earned. We decided to give it a try this past weekend for the first time since Abby has been sitting up better.  Abby did well until she started getting tired and we realized that she can't go to sleep sitting up. So we had to go grab her car seat so she would calm down and be able to fall asleep.

Mad face

Not sure how this face ended up in the camera roll, because I promise she was in a good mood, but it looks like she chewing us out!

Almost teeth

Abby has been teething for quite some time now. Here's a close up that you can see her "tooth buds". If you're viewing on your phone, double tap on her mouth so it will zoom in to see them better. Good luck :-)

Daddy's office

We stopped in Adam's office Sunday while we were at church. We were going to try the spinney chair out, but Abby still seems a little too unstable for that. Oh well...soon!

Hanging with poppy

Tony and Kathy kept Abby all day while we were at Kennywood for my birthday. When we pulled up to pick her up, they were having a conversation out on the porch waiting for us.

Earplugs please!

Yesterday, Adam was involved in a "remote" for the radio station for a local charity. He suggested that I take the day off and join him with Abby. The Hoss Foundation (Jeff Hostetler goes to our church, dad...) has an annual Shoot Out at a shorting academy at Nemacolin (a super nice resort about 40 minutes away.   Adam spent the day shooting 100 clays--he got 54 out of 100 by the way! Pretty impressive for someone that doesn't know how to shoot a gun!  Anyway--it was raining all day so I fully expected that we would go outside to watch daddy and it be too wet/loud to spend all day out there and we we have to go up to the resort area and just walk around inside with the stroller. Not so!  Abby loved it!  There were loud gun shots constantly and once we put in her little earplugs, she was having a good ole time playing with stuff in her stroller! She would even smile at people walking by that would talk to her. We had a very fun day!
