iPhones

So, Abby has figured out this whole iPhone thing. She knows when I'm pointing it at her and stops to look at it when I have it out. Maybe it's the reflective apple on the back that draws her attention? I was letting her see herself in this one.

Hair bows

We finally got some hair bows that stay on her head!

Church

When Adam and I are both serving at church on the weekends, we have to get creative with care for Abby. This past weekend we spent a lot of time in the mother's room. She was okay with it.

Burping

Abby is struggling with her burping lately. We have been trying different burping positions to help her out.

Grandpas

In honor of grandpas everywhere, no matter what name they go by, we hiked up Abby's pants to the appropriate "grandpa" level!

Rough week

Last week was rough. Abby is all of a sudden having some eating issues. It's causing lots of crying and screaming so we feel like we've taken a step backwards. Hopefully she'll move through this phase quickly.

Smile!

We were trying to get Abby to smile at home group the other night. She responded by doing the exact opposite.

Fun noises

We like to try making fun noises with our mouths while Abby is watching to help her become more vocal (other than screaming!). She usually responds with some kind of confused face. Here she is with her crazy stand up hair as well.

Abby's first blow out

So, I got a text from Kathy during the day. Abby had an explosion all over herself and her clothes so Kathy had to wash her and her clothes! Here she is letting her crazy hair dry.

Mornings are fun

Abby is still having a middle of the night feeding every night. Then, no matter what time she feeds in the middle of the night, I wake her up at 6:00am to feed. I then load her up and drop her at Kathy's house around 7:00 so I can get to work in the mornings. Tuesday morning, after the initial crying when she woke up at 6, she laid there and just stared at me before eating. When I started chatting with her, she started smiling. I love this new development.

Pink monkeys

I bought a little pink monkey for Abby out of the discounted valentines day bin at the grocery store over the weekend. Adam decided that they needed to get to know each other and put it in Abby's lap while we were driving somewhere. It stayed on her lap almost the whole ride, with her just staring at it. Very cute.

2 month pictures -LOTS

So when we took her two month pictures last week, I just kept clicking away and Adam was singing to her. Here's the succession of her reactions! All keepers in my opinion. Maybe I could figure out how to make a long picture with all of them on it. That would be fun. Enjoy!

Giggles for mommy

I think she likes the sound of my voice :). This is her while I was talking to the doctor at her Friday appointment. We had to stop and take pictures!

Doctors

Abby did great at her doctor appointments yesterday. Her 2 month check up went well, with the doctor happy with her progress. She only weighs in at 10lbs 15oz, but still no cause for concern. She is 24 inches long now so it officially puts her in the "long and lean jeans" category :) After that, we went to the orthotics doctor to see about a helmet. They did a 3d cranial scan on her and the doctor said things don't look that bad. They'll follow up in a month to see if it has corrected itself or not. If not, we might be due for some light helmet wearing--but he has high hopes that her head will continue to even out. Here she is at each office! She has to wear a funny hat for the cranial scan.

Post Valentines day

Love for mommy

Yesterday, Abby had her physical therapy appt for her neck. The place happens to be located in the building that I work in so I was able to walk her around to meet people after the appt. She did really well for a while, not realizing that she had been awake for over two hours, and then all of a sudden, she hit a wall and started crying. Someone else was holding her at the time. They passed her back to me and she stopped crying almost immediately. I passed her off at the next office and she started crying again. I took her back and she stopped again! She wanted her mommy!! How sweet is that? It seems to be the first time that just being held by me comforted her. Of course, I hate that she was crying for other people, but she was tired, so hopefully that's why she was unhappy.

It's the little things :)

Content with Daddy

Here is Abby during her wake time after Adam fed her. She doesn't know yet that its rude to stare. Our evenings now consist of a 5:00 feeding with playtime following, nap, 7:30 feeding with playtime, nap, and then a big bottle of milk from Adam at 10 to push her into a milk coma for this night.  She's doing pretty well with night time sleep.  Here's hoping for consistency!

Here we go again.

So-in hopes if sticking with this whole blog thing, I have installed the app on my phone. My goal is to post a picture of Abby every day. Might not have time for a story or long post, but I'll shoot for a pic! Here goes!

This is a picture that Kathy sent me (Adam's mom who is keeping Abby during the day while we're at work for the first few months). It is from yesterday--my first day back from work--with the message "Have a good day mommy!" It worked, because I did :)
