What?!

Abby was sitting next me, intently watching a movie, so I asked her if I could take her picture. 

The answer was no in case you can't read her face :-) She wasn't happy with me for interrupting her trance. 

Cleaning up

When it comes to anything Abby doesn't want to do (go to bed, put away her toys, get dressed...), Abby loves to stall...a lot. So in an effort to get her to move quicker, we ask to race her to do things. Here she is putting away her toys before bedtime. She was moving fast, but barely putting away one small thing at a time every 15 or so seconds. I made her pause for a quick pic. 

Playing the piano

Abby was so into the storm that came through on Monday. She kept wanting to open the door to see the rain. After a little while, she started playing with some little pianos that she has. All of a sudden she says, "can I play piano for the storm?" Sure, Abby...play your little heart out. She had also put her Elsa tutu on to complete the ensemble. 

New toy

Since Abby has gotten a couple of red faces from daycare over the past month (that means she didn't behave well), we've decided to start rewarding her for getting green faces. Tony has joined in by getting Abby a special toy when Abby gets a whole week of green faces in a row. She is getting what they call Tsum Tsum stuffed animals. They're not actual Disney Tsum Tsums, but TY animals, and she loves them. This was the one she got for this week--Pinkie the Racoon, named by Abby of course. Her and I were watching Tony bowl while she was showing me her new toy. 

Hiding

Sorry I've missed some pictures this week! We've been so busy, I haven't taken any so I didn't have any to post. This was from this morning, while Abby was playing in the living room. She didn't want me to take her picture so she was hiding from the camera. 

For daddy

Abby was drawing while we were driving to church on Sunday. She said-this is for Daddy! So I took a picture and sent it to Adam while he was at his golf tournament. When we got out of the car, she said "I didn't write anything on it because I can't spell!" 

Kid's day

Adam was out of town this past weekend for a golf tournament so Abby and I hung out all weekend just the two of us. We watched a lot of Disney movies, making sure to get up and dance through any musical numbers. We ate some fun snacks and played games. We also walked downtown for Kid's Day on Saturday. It was super crowded, so I noticed some crowd anxiety from Abby (she gets that from me). Once we peeled off onto the side streets to some lesser populated stops, we were both able to enjoy ourselves more. There were tents with crafts to do, give always like frisbee and necklaces, and some characters walking around to entertain everyone. 

The progression

So-there is usually a progression of faces that happen before I get a smile out of Abby for a picture. Thought I'd capture it for the record :-)

Saturday cuddles

Abby will sometimes come over to us and say, "I want to cuddle with you!" So, of course, we drop what we're doing and cuddle! 

Ballerina

Abby spent the night at Tony and Kathy's house and I got this picture from Kathy the next morning. Check out those leg warmers!

Tutu

Kathy had a little tutu at their house for Abby so she decided to show me her ballerina pose. 

Fireworks

We decided that Abby was old enough to stay up late enough for fireworks this year, so we drove over to the church parking lot and sat out with a lot of other people to watch the fireworks in Cheat Lake. She had a blast running around before the fireworks and when they started, I think she was so tired that she couldn't care less about them. Oh well!

Stickers from Nana

Abby decided that the stickers that Nana sent her were so fancy that she had to put her fancy high heals on when wearing them. Her feet are way too big for them now, but she still likes trying to cram her feet into them :-)

Water park fun

Tony and Kathy took Abby to a waterpark down in Fairmont, WV. It's a fun little place for kids to run around. They said she spent the whole time filling up that bucket over and over again. 

Finding Dori

Abby loved the Finding Dori movie we went to see last week. She insisted on taking Dori, Nemo, and Squirt along for the trip. She ate lots of popcorn and laughed almost the entire movie. This kid just loves to go to the a movie theater. 

Take turtle's picture!

Just another example of Abby getting jealous of all of the picture taking at the new house. This time, she insisted on me taking Turtle's picture. I insisted she move him out from in front of her face. 

In the Whale!

Tony made what looks like a giant tarp whale for their vacation bible club. It takes up an entire basketball court width on one end. The most fun part is that you can get inside (you know...Jonah IN the whale). Here is Abby inside the whale while she was helping tony get some work done one Saturday morning. 

Repeats

These were on Facebook, but I thought I'd get them on the blog too. 

When we were at Tony and Kathy's for Father's Day, Abby played a lot with Aunt Liz. Halfway through the evening we realized that they both had stripes on so Abby wanted her picture with her. #twinning

Abby was being silly when Adam asked her how old she thought he was. She said 1 and held 1 finger up. Adam said, "higher". She immediately raised her hand as high as she could raise it. I see where there could be some confusion...
