Kitchen nap

I spent a lot of time in the kitchen this past week putting that cake together, and Abby wanted to stay in there with me most of the time. Here, she had laid down on the floor with a blanket like she was going to sleep and looked up at me to see if I noticed. Also, it was a little warm in the kitchen and there is a vent right at her back, so maybe she was just trying to get some air :-)

Parking Garage

We went to a breakfast buffet last Saturday morning and on our way back to the car, Adam started yelling to show Abby what it sounded like to echo in the parking garage. They spent the next few minutes screaming to hear what it sounded like. She thought it was hilarious. 

Tshirt for pjs

Tyler and Liz got Abby a tshirt while they were in San Francisco a little while ago. They got the smallest tshirt size they could find. It's pretty big still so I decided to let Abby where it as a night gown. Here she is goofing around one morning while I was getting ready. 

Giggles

Abby had a serious case of the giggles while Adam was bringing her into he house the other night. All it takes is a bounce in your step!

Selfies

Abby loves to see herself in the camera and loves to press any buttons she can figure out. Here are a couple of selfies she took all on her own. 

Whatch doin', Mommy?

She's just trying to see what I was working on.  I think it was my "cake plan" for this week (what I need to accomplish on each day to get it done in time. 

Morning face

Here's Abby's morning face. Looks like I missed the top of one ear with her glasses, so they're crooked! My bad. 

Story time

I am making a cake for our friends' one year old's birthday party. The cake she wants is based off of Zach's favorite book,"The Little Blue Truck".  Angie let me borrow the book to have as a reference for the cake. Here's Abby getting to "read" it for the first time after her bath time.

Adam and Abby

Adam wanted to be close to Abby while she was eating her lunch at Tony and Kathy's house. 

Stroller nap

We have been thinking about our trip to Disney coming up in September and wondering how working in Abby's nap time is going to go. She usually doesn't fall asleep in a stroller so we'll have to go back to the hotel for her to nap, and then go back out. We went on a walk last weekend and she actually fell asleep in the stroller! She did it once before about a month ago, so now I'm thinking she might be able to nap in the stroller at Disney. That would be nice :-)

Ps. I got a call from the daycare yesterday and a spot has opened up for Abby! She's going to start Mon, Wed, Fri the week of June 30th. Very excited for her to be around other kids more. She's going to love it!

Harder

It's getting harder and harder to get a smiling picture of Abby. Here we were at Dairy Queen and you'd think she'd be happy. Nope. She was just tired and wanted to go home...and to not take pictures. It is true that the key to a happy baby (at least in Abby's case so far) is getting the right amount of sleep and eating enough. Note to self-more sleep than that day :-)

Lowes

We've been trying to take care of our flower beds and have spent a lot of time at Lowes. This is her wandering around trying to walk away from us. 

Father's Day

Abby got to wear her white dress from Memaw today. It fit perfectly and she got lots of compliments on it. Went perfect with today's warm father's day. 

Tired

After a long day at Kennywood, Abby put her hand in her mouth and was ready for a nice nap on the way home. 

Buggie

Here's Abby moving things around in the house. She'll pick it up and put it in her shopping cart, push it around, and then find a new home where she can stash it. She was about to stash Mickey. 

Waiting for the carousel

Abby was so excited to go on the carousel at Kennywood. We watched it go around in line and she was mesmerized. When we were on it-it was SO fast! I was holding on for dear life!

On a ride

This is us on a school bus ride that lifts up and down at Kennywood (amusement park in Pittsburgh). I couldn't get Abby to look up because she was very confused at what the movement was making her feel! She didn't cry, but this was the least fun she had on any of the rides. I think it was because she couldn't see what was going on, she could just feel it.

Cuddles before bedtime

I love it when Abby actually starts to wind down in the evenings and will come up to cuddle on the couch. Usually she gets hyper, but I prefer quiet Abby before bedtime :-)

Sleeping

This was the first time ever that Abby fell asleep in her stroller! We were out shopping all day and didn't have a place for her to take her afternoon nap. She just conked out in there for about an hour!  (It's reclined if you can't tell from the pic.)

Steak and shake

We went to Pittsburgh last weekend and had a meal at Steak and Shake while we were there. We worked on using crayons for a while and then she started trying to eat them...so we'll try again another time. 

Romper

We bought this romper a little while ago in a larger size, hoping to have something for Abby to wear July 4th. I pulled it out on Memorial Day and it was already too small! So--I snapped a pic and returned if for a credit that day. She's growing too fast! (And that romper ran way too small!)
