Jacket weather!

It's been nice and chilly outside so Abby can wear her jacket outfits. It was a big hit at the Veggie Tales concert last night! Thanks, Mom, for sending it!

Stretching

Stretched out on the couch after her bath. So long!

Mall trip

Adam had to be at the mall last night for a Halloween event for the radio so all of the kids there were dressed up in line to get candy. Here was our little mouse!

Lazy girl

We went to Outback last night for dinner after our church's Night Of Worship. Abby was tired after bouncing around for a full hour of music. She wiggles and bounces to the music. She was so tired, she put her sippy cup on the table and tried to drink from it without using her hands to hold it...

Just hanging out after my last bottle before bed. Always very chatty. 

Reading before bed

This is us last night reading Abby's alphabet book all cuddled on the couch together. This is the first time she has really looked like she is paying attention and not just wanting to bite the book! 

My other baby

Adam got his wisdom teeth out yesterday. Two of the four were impacted so they put him under. Here is a before and after shot. He was quite funny under anesthesia. 

Little mouse

Abby wore her Halloween costume to home group last night with the other kiddos because we're all going to a veggie tales concert next week. Here are some pics I took beforehand. 

Straws

Abby loves to chew on and play with straws. We always ask for an extra whenever we are out and we keep a box of bendy straws at home for her. Easy toy!

Learning to talk

We spend a lot of time trying to get Abby to say words. She's really picking things up well (when she's in the correct mood). She just won't even attempt mama. Boo. 

Unicorn

Abby loves her chubby unicorn. It's like a big soft ball that she can pick up by the blue Mohawk or horn. 

Still working

Still working on rolling here. At least she wasn't mad at us!

Heads up!

Here we are working with Abby to try to be more mobile. I was working on rolling and she started pushing up with her hands! Now granted, most babies are doing this around 6 months, but we were happy to see her finally start doing it on her own. She's been making some progress this past week on a few different things so I'm very proud of her. 

10 month pics

It's getting harder and harder to take Abby's monthly pictures because she is so aware of the bear and month paper. She would not leave the paper alone this go around. We eventually had to sneak and tape it behind her. She soon looked up an found it. Smarty pants. 

Dr appt

Abby had her 9 mth dr appt yesterday (even though she's over ten mths now-just how the scheduling works out).  She is 18 lbs, 12oz and 28 inches long. She's still hanging out in the 50th percentile in both areas. She's doing really well with everything and got her first half of flu shot (second half in 4 weeks). She screamed immediately but calmed down within two minutes. Poor short term memory like her mama :-) 

Hangin out

One day Abby seemed to be a bit warm, so we let her have an extra helmet break so her sweaty head could cool off!

Stretching

One of the things we are working on at PT is raising her arms over her head. She rarely does because of the muscle tightness in her shoulders and neck. This day, however, she was raising her cube over her head like a champ!

Duck!

Here's Abby wrapped up in one of her hooded towels, the duck. I wanted to use this one because at her speech therapy appt on Thursday, while looking at a book, we got her to say "duck, duck, duck"!  She did really well focusing her babblings into deliberate words! I was so proud! She can almost say "cat"... It comes out as just the deliberate "t" sound from the end of the word, but she does it anytime we say the word " cat". She's doing really well :-)

Bath!

This was bath time last night. We're trying to make some adjustments in Abby's schedule to nap less but sleep longer at night. This gets us starting bath time earlier in the evening. She loves water so this shouldn't be an issue. 

Before bath

On evenings that Abby gets a late nap, our evening routine goes like this: wake up, helmet off, bath, milk, cuddles without helmet, dress for bed, sleep!  Here she is on step two. 

Balloon animals

We went to a Chinese restaurant for lunch Sunday and one of the staff made Abby a balloon animal. She immediately popped it and was very sad, so he quickly made her another. This one survived for the rest of the day. Good thing, too, because she was very attached to it. She just wanted to sit and hold it. 

Sleepy head

Abby isn't usually a cuddler. The only time she'll lay her head down on me is in the mornings after I feed her because she's still sleepy. She won't lay on Adam. On Sunday, she was so tired after church that Adam was able to pull her from her car seat and walk her upstairs keeping her asleep. He was happy that she had finally fallen asleep on him :-)

Crazy girl

I might have mentioned how hyper Abby is these days before bed. We're fine with it because by the time we put her in her crib and she flops around a bit out of excitement, she doesn't make a peep when we leave the room. We put her on the couch between us the other night and she squirmed and giggled for a good 15 minutes. Maybe it's because of the helmet free time? It was pretty funny. 

Waiting for mommy

Abby had to hang out with me in kidZone  last week until the nursery opened at church. She was content chewing on her rubber fish from bath time. That had to replace the light up ducky whose battery died and mommy can't find a replacement! We will slowly wean her over to her non-light up duckies :-)
