Pants!

The weather turned cool by the time we made it gone from vacation so it's time to whip out the long pants! 

Eating in the car

We figured out the road trip idea with the addition to our family. Abby did pretty well in the car for so long. We would stop when it was meal time and I would feed her in the back seat. Then I would pass her off to Adam for some solids. Then, back on the road in most cases. Sometimes we would take a stroller/shopping break :-)

Morning face

Here was Abby the morning we left Daytona. I had to pull her helmet off to get that shirt over her head and it looks like she was sleeping on her left side. She was very cute and cuddly! 

Crabby Joe's

Here's a restaurant on a pier that we ate at. Abby really likes chewing on straws (so does her daddy)!

Aunt Catfish's

One of the places we usually go when in Daytona is Aunt Catfish's. There was quite a wait when we went so we had lots of time to hand out on their pier. It was windy :-) 

Birds

Abby started pointing the week of vacation.  We realized she was pointing at the birds and then was mesmerized any time she saw them anywhere. The last pic is just her chillin on the beach blanket under the umbrella. 

Floating in the pool

We found this fun baby float last month for Abby's pool time. She loved it because she could kick and kick in the water without kicking us. If she leaned forward, she could drink the water and move around by herself! She loved being in it. 

Into the ocean we go!

This was our first trip out to the actual beach last week. Seemed strange to be at a hotel in the beach and not make it out there until the third day we were there, but that's just how it worked out. 

She, of course, loved it! We have video of putting her feet in and her trying to figure out where the ground is going!

Hats are perfect

It's amazing that all of the fun adult hats fit perfectly over Abby's helmet! Here were a couple of our favorites.

Drying off

Abby is a real trooper when it comes to all things pool/beach. It's been very windy this week which makes for a cool time once you get out if the pool to dry off. She doesn't seem to notice one bit!

Big pool and chest hair

After realizing the kiddie pool was much cooler than the other pools and lazy river, we've opted to stay out. Abby loves to splash the water with her hands and kick her legs around. At one point, she finally noticed Adam's chest hair and started pinching it with her new found "pincer grasp".  He was not amused...

Abby's first venture into a real pool here at Daytona! It was windy and the kiddie pool water was cold- but she loved it anyway!

Florida welcome center

One tradition that we have when going to Florida is stopping at the Florida welcome center. They have half the building of brochures and coupon books per region of Florida, and they also give you a free small cup of either orange juice or grapefruit juice! We always snag a few pics there.

Lexi and Abby had fun batting at each other through the stair railing for a little while. It was very cute!

Chair

Since Abby enjoys sitting up so much, we've been trying to gage when she is ready for her own little chair. She couldn't sit up straight (too many distractions around, perhaps) so I'm thinking just a little bit longer.  I'm afraid she would tumble out the front of the chair at this point!

Teeth

This is common sight these days. Abby's middle four teeth on the top are coming in and she frequently goes from smiling, then stopping to check her teeth (yep, still there...), then back to smiling.
